LHNC CHARITY FUNDRAISER FOR HaNC - YORKSHIRE 3 PEAK CHALLENGE
05-09-2026
The Liverpool Head and Neck Centre (LHNC) combines internationally recognised clinical and research strengths to deliver research-led improvements in the quality and safety of patient care.
This year, LHNC raised funds for HaNC with 10 brave volunteers tackling the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on Saturday 5th September 2026.
The challenge started from Horton-in-Ribblesdale, beginning with a steady incline on to the summit of Pen-y-Ghent, walking alongside the amazing Ribblehead Viaduct, up to the summit of Whernside, descending along a well-trodden path before heading up to the final peak, Ingleborough, and descend back in the Horton-in-Ribblesdale. The aim of the challenge is to walk the 24 miles, a total ascent of around 1500m (5000ft) in 12 hours or less.
100% of all sponsorship funds raised will go directly to HaNC to help support the research work of the Liverpool Head and Neck Centre.
HaNC is a group of head & neck cancer patients and carers in the Merseyside and Cheshire regions, who got together to provide mutual support and to assist clinicians at the Liverpool Neck and Neck Centre in all aspects of their research.
The number of Head and Neck cancer patients has grown considerably over recent years, and therefore the need for more research funding continues to be an urgent priority.
All funds raised by HaNC are used to support the research work of the Liverpool Head and Neck Centre into the better understanding of the causes of Head & Neck cancer, the impact of treatment and to improving the patient experience.
